Saving the endangered Kordofan giraffe in Northern Cameroon

An appeal for £1500 (US $2000) for equipment to support research into and conservation of the Kordofan giraffe

The northern African Kordofan giraffe population has declined more than 80% in the last 35 years. WWA is raising funds for the purchase of a Canon telephoto lens, solid state drive and walkie talkies to assist BEDD to collect, store and share data as they monitor giraffe populations and actively engage local communities within northern Cameroon's conservation landscape.

The iconic Shoebill is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red Data List for birds, with a small declining population across all of its range. Shoebill-Watch Uganda is a NPO whose aim is to conserve and create awareness about the Shoebill (and other birds) and their habitats, and to help ensure associated eco-tourism livelihoods for local people.
