Snare removed from bull giraffe
The positive impact of WWA's ongoing support of Wildlife Vets Namibia

A farm worker recently spotted a giraffe bull on a farm near Windhoek, Namibia, with a poaching snare tightly wrapped around his left hind leg.
Wildlife Vets Namibia was called out to assist. The team reports:
"We darted the giraffe bull to immobilise him so that we could safely remove the snare. Fortunately, the snare had not yet cut too deeply into the leg, and the damage was relatively minor. The giraffe fell in quite rocky terrain, which made it a little more challenging for the giraffe to get up. Thankfully, he got up well and walked away!

A HUGE thank you to Worth Wild Africa for sponsoring the drugs used during this operation. Your support makes a real difference, and makes these types of interventions possible."
To all those who generously support our ongoing Namibian Vet Fund, thank you! Please keep on sharing and supporting this vital work.
